OLIVE HARVEST DELEGATION

Olive Harvest 2017

OCTOBER - NOVEMBER , 2017

This delegation is your opportunity to visit Palestine/Israel during the olive harvest season — a culturally rich and important time.

Hear from farmers and learn of the importance of agriculture to the economy and culture. Learn about threats to the environment, the exploitation of natural resources, and the struggle of Palestinian communities to maintain access to land and water.

As with all IFPB delegations, you will also meet additional Israelis and Palestinians working for peace and justice as well as visit many important historical sites.*

Our Commitment to a Safe and Secure Delegation

We take the safety of IFPB delegates very seriously. Our commitment to safety and security has made more than 60 delegations possible since 2001 without a single major safety incident.

IFPB delegations seek to understand the roots of violence in Palestine/Israel, but we do not seek it out. We carefully monitor the situation on the ground and maintain regular contact with Palestinian and Israeli partners about ongoing developments; our professional guides and drivers are experts in understanding the local security situation; and our leaders are experienced and equiped to deal with any situation. * Meetings pertaining to the specific theme amount to an average of about 20% of all meetings and the overall emphasis remains with exploring the social and political realities in the region in general. Thus, any addition of a theme will not change the overall delegation itinerary greatly. Additionally, the ability to participate in the olive harvest is dependent on the stage of the olive harvest season and the weather on the ground.
