Scott Kennedy (December 9, 1962 - November 19, 2011) was a founder of Interfaith Peace-Builders and led more than three dozen delegations to Israel/Palestine from the 1970's until his death in 2011.
He served most recently as the Chair of IFPB's Board of Directors and had an enormous impact on the organizations work and identity.
In addition to his work with IFPB, Scott was a co-founder and staff member of the Resource Center for Nonviolence in Santa Cruz, California, where he also served two terms as Mayor. He served previously as Chair of the National Council of the Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR) and Chair of the FOR's Middle East Task Force.
For more on Scott and the people he touched through his work for peace, see the memorial page we built to honor his memory.
There are many enthusiastic people who want to go on a delegation but cannot afford it. Your donation to the Scott Kennedy Memorial Scholarship Fund will directly help people who would not otherwise be able to travel on a delegation.
Scott’s advocacy included tireless efforts to bring as many people as possible to meet with Palestinian and Israeli peace-builders. He often raised money for young and low-income activists to join the delegations he led. Interfaith Peace-Builders has named our scholarship fund in his honor so that we can continue the important work that he pioneered.
IFPB annually gives out thousands of dollars in scholarships to those in need of financial aid to join a delegation. Your support makes that possible.
