IFPB DELEGATION LEADERS PLAY A VITAL ROLE
IN THE PEACE AND JUSTICE MOVEMENT

Interfaith Peace-Builders constantly strives to pick dynamic leaders for all of our delegations. We choose leaders who not only have experience on the ground but are also active in the movement for peace & justice in Israel/Palestine and beyond.  The leaders we have chosen for this summer are certainly no exception! Each leader contributes to making IFPB delegations unique and we are excited to have an amazing group of leaders for our May & July delegations this summer in Israel/Palestine.

May Delegation ~ only a few spots left!
Voices of the Peacemakers
May 21 – June 3, 2011

This delegation will explore Palestinian and Israeli efforts to achieve peace and a resolution to their conflict based on justice.  The delegation will feature meetings with Palestinian and Israeli peacemakers – leaders of civil society groups, grassroots organizers, religious leaders and more.  IFPB’s May-June delegation also traditionally focuses on the annual commemoration of the Palestinian Nakba (Catastrophe) and the founding of the State of Israel.

Leaders: Anna Baltzer & Adam Horowitz will be leading this delegation. Anna has just returned from a European tour and continues her important work as National Organizer at the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation. Adam continues his work through Mondoweiss and has also been on the road, presenting his co-edited book - The Goldstone Report: The Legacy of Landmark Investigation of the Gaza Conflict.

Huwaida Arraf was originally scheduled to co-lead this delegation. However, due to her previous obligations and leadership role in the Gaza flotilla plans, which was rescheduled, she is no longer available on the dates of the program.

We are so excited that Anna Baltzer could join Adam Horowitz as leader of the May delegation and know they will make a dynamic pair!

Deadline to Apply: Applications will be accepted until the week of April 18th, when applicants will be notified of availability. Spaces are already filling up, so contact IFPB if you would like to travel with us. Apply soon to reserve your space!

July 2011 Delegation ~ spaces going quickly!
Today’s Realities, Tomorrow's Leaders
July 16 -29, 2011

This Delegation is being Co-Sponsored with American Friends Service Committee.

This delegation will explore current realities of life for Israelis and Palestinians, including settlements, the occupation, and the peace process—by learning directly from those living there.  We will also explore issues relevant to young people in the region, including efforts to educate and empower future generations working towards a just resolution to the conflict.  Our itinerary will feature meetings with leaders of civil society groups, grassroots organizers, Palestinian and Israeli youth, religious leaders and more.

While this delegation will include a focus on youth, people of all ages are encouraged to apply!

Leaders: Mohammed Abu-Nimer & Emily Siegel will be leading this delegation. Mohammed has just returned from working on Islamic Peacebuilding projects in Chad & Niger and continues to teach courses at American University. Emily is working diligently to put together unique experiences for each IFPB delegation and remains active in local Washington DC activism surrounding Israel/Palestine. We are thrilled to have Emily & Mohammed lead!

Deadline to Apply: Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until late May. Spaces are already filling up, so we can't guarantee spots will be available. Apply soon to reserve your space!
